This review is from: The Adorable Bastard (Kindle Edition)
Eric Lamet's "An Adorable Bastard" is quite a different book than his "A Child al confino." This time he has written an erotic novel dealing with a successful businessman who is a real ladies man. Stanley, his protagonist, is introduced to passionate love and sex and twice lets the "perfect woman" and love of his life get away. Lamet describes his sexual activities in great detail throughout the book. Stanley marries, loses another potentially ideal woman to an accident, has a number of affairs, a bad and unfulfilling marriage and finally some homosexual experiences before dying a sick and lonely man at an early age. The book is well written and although the erotic descriptions beocme a bit repetitive it was hard to put it down. Stanley proves to be a compelling character and the book is an exhilarating read. It's not for anyone offended by graphic sexual descriptions but it is certainly well worth reading for adults who are not easily offended.
